School has been in session almost a month now. I am full swing into soccer with both boys & the past few days have wandered where all the time has gone. We leave about 7:05 or so, which allows the boys to get on the bus at Wilbur-Ellis at 7:45..... The mornings have been going quite well... However, we have soccer Monday, Friday till 6:00 p.m. and Tuesday, Thursday till 6:30 p.m. which means we don't get home till after 7:00 for most nights... Crock pot dinners / leftovers seem to be our thing. The only problem we have is Adrian's meds wear off by that time & being in the 4th grade with 3 different teachers, homework is a little more each day.. .
so we actually had to give first med's by 4:00 a.m. so i could wake him up by 5-5:30 a.m. to
get him in the bath to get the work finished... It is tougher on me than him... but I'm glad to say we are adjusting.... Being up that early just means we are to bed that much earlier :)...

Are you as crazy as I ???
As I'm sitting in the car, obviously thinking out loud..must have been louder than I thought.....
Adrian says "Mom, if you keep talking to yourself, people are really going to think you are crazy."

Grilled Asparagus Recipe...

Grilled Asparagus with Prosciutto
I have no idea what the name of this is but I've seen the recipe here and there, so Nick & I decided to try it... It was wonderful....
Take your asparagus spears after cleaning & wipe down with Olive oil.. I spiced them up with Garlic Pepper & Oregeno. Then I wrapped a piece of Prosciutto around each & thru it on the bbq. It was delicious...

Field Trip Today.....
If you recall last week, I was fully prepared to attend the first grade fieldtrip only to find out it was a week early.. *lol*
Well today was the real day... 75 first graders.... How do those teachers do it???
We were able to go to the Public Library where they were read several good stories, and had a small tour.. Why don't I spend time there?? I was amazed at all the things they have there now..
Video checkout, magazine checkout, computers... wow, I was impressed
Then we went over to the fire station. The kids were excited to see the station. One firefighter put all his gear on & would playfully tickle the kids so that they would understand not to be afraid of him in all that gear... He did a great job. They got to walk thru an ambulance &
also thru the fire truck.
Then we were off to the police station. Elijah was pretty excited and even had me call "Uncle Dave" to see if he would be there.. Mr. Carpentier led Elijah into Dave's office infront of all the kids. Boy was he a struttin... then we toured the building, and also not only sat in the police car but got to hear the sirens.. Afterwards he gave Elijah the keys to the police car and asked him to return them to Dave... Oh how cool he was *lol*...
We then road the bus to the park where we had lunch and the kids played.. It was short & sweet back by 12:15 but I don't think those little guys could have handled much more... As for us parents...... I'm not sure how much more we could have handled *lol*
I have a few pics to post but will do it a little later!!

Good Luck Travis......

Last night I had a great suprise... My nephew, Travis texted me and asked what I was doing...I replied nothing, Why?? He texted back "I'm almost to your house." He stopped by on his way to college. He is going to attend Walla Walla Community & play baseball. I'm so excited for him & the best part is he is close enough so we will be able to watch.
Travis reminds me alot of Kevin. He's the social kid. His friends, family, teachers all mean the world to him. I will miss him cuz he always like to attend the bbq's, the camping trips, if it was a family event he would do his darndest to be there. He loved to wrestle, play ball & always took time with the little guys.. Elijah always asks "Is Travis coming too?"
On his way I loaded him up with freshly canned applesauce, asparagus & apples...
Good Luck Travis... Love you Bud!!!!

Who's Hot & Who's Not......
As we are driving thru the drive-thru at Dairy Queen Elijah whispers to Adrian....
"Adrian-check out the chick in the car behind us "SHE'S HOT!"...
As I'm watching in the mirror... - Adrian turns to look and says..
"OH MY GOSH ELIJAH... She is OLD..... Why do you think all the old women are hot???"
( I thought I was going to die laughing"...).
As we pull up to the window Adrian says "Now that's hot Elijah".... about the 18 yr old window worker... Where do they come up with this stuff????

Arguing with a 9 yr old & a 6yr old........
Me-"Elijah what are you doing climbing in my trunk?" (As he is climbing & shutting the trunk)
Elijah - "Mom, it's okay, there is a button that will let me out.. It's all good..."
Me-"Elijah get out of the trunk now!! It's very dangerours, get out of the trunk!!)
Elijah-"But mom, it has a button.. don't worry"
Me-"Elijah, I said get out of that trunk now & get to your room!!"
Elijah - "But Mom, It has a button!!!!!!!)
So than I spent another 15 mins. trying to explain why he shouldn't be in the trunk & how it was very dangerous & he spent the 15 mins. arguing that it was okay because if it wasn't there wouldn't be a button back there!!!
Boys are riding bikes - Rule #1 - Don't ride on the street, Rule #2 - Can only go to point A's driveway east of us & Point B - West of us.... Rules understood????
Me standing out patiently watching no sign of boys.... Me starting to panic.... Then oh... look two little boys come from around the corner 3 houses down from Point A....
Me: "Adrian, how far are you supposed to go?"
Adrian: "What mom?"
Me: "Adrain and Elijah put the bikes in the garage... you know the rules... How far are you supposed to go?"...
Adrian:"But mom, we were looking for Jenn."
Me:" Adrian, What is the rule??? How far can you go on your bikes?"...
Adrian: "Mom, I don't remember.. did you tell us?"
Me: "Adrian & Elijah... tell me how far are you to go...."
Adrian: "Mom, did you tell us?"
Elijah: Only to point A...
Me:... So than why did you go past point A & around the corner so I couldn't see
Adrian: "Mom, I forgot...Elijah went in the road."
Elijah: "No sir, you went in the road."
Me: IN a very LOUD voice: "Get those bikes in the garage & get to your room." You both know the rules & you both broke em.
Elijah: "Adrian did it first!!!"
Later: Both of you come here..
Me: " You have rules to follow on your bike & if you can't follow them then you won't be riding them..."
Me: Now tell me what the rules are for the bikes.. Rule#1 ????
Adrian: Don't ride in the street..
Elijah.. Mom Adrian always rides in the street...
Me.... - Rule #2???
Elijah - Can only go to point A & point B?
Adrian - Oh, you didn't tell us that .....
AGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Parenting Frustration
