I think they've found their nitch!!!

I've always been a sports mom. I think sports are important in this day & age - just so the kids stay busy & hopefully make better choices, knowing their will be consequences for their actions.

I also have felt that sports / coaches can break or make a kid. I've seen it happen, way to many times. With saying that I've been a baseball mom, a softball mom, a soccer mom, a football mom, a bowling mom, a basketball mom & a wrestling mom.

Adrian & Elijah have tried many of the same sports that the others have played. I will say that having ADHD makes a huge difference in the kid. Adrian has tried baseball- not enough action to keep him paying attention & then when the ball comes there are way to many decisions for him to make- do I tag, where do I throw, aghhh what do I do??? He played soccer & honestly did good and loved it but was frustrated with some of the kids on the team, cuz they weren't as mind set as he was. Basketball was ok, but didn't tickle his fancy & then came football.. He was so excited but by the end of the season he had figured out, he would get too confused on what he was supposed to do so he came to the conclusion that football probably wasn't the sport for him. Now wrestling - he liked... One on one, fast paced, easy to focus. There were 2 things that were the downfall. Practice was from 7-8 at night. It thru his sleep pattern into tizzies which completely plays havoc on his ADHD & by the end of the wrestling tournaments - he was totally wiped.

Now Elijah - He liked them all... He loved soccer, and baseball was ok - a tad boring he thought & loved basketball.. As for the coaches - the kid never stood still and has a hard time focusing to follow directions... And wrestling, loved it and was proving to be a good wrestler.

Well, after soccer & football this past fall - we took winter off. Knowing that come February we would be back on the matts for wrestling. Well, the older kids had been taking the younger ones bowling. They found out there was a league on Saturdays & so wanted to do it.. Well, I did that same league as a kid all thru highschool, bowled on the highschool travel league and continued to bowl as an adult. I gave it up when I took on Adrian and Elijah. So you could say it's in my blood. What the heck $6.00 per kid on Saturday's .. Starts at 10:30 done by 12:30 or so. Perfect. Well then we find out they get 3 free games during the week.. AHHH practice..

Well, lets just say that with all the sports options out there, they've decided to give up wrestling, give up soccer & continue to bowl.... In the past two months, it's amazing to see how much they have improved. Elijah started with an average of 30 (not good but I wouldn't allow him to use bumpers) but his average is now 45 & will continue to go up because this past Saturday his lowest game was a 70 & his high was a 90. AWESOME!!!! As for Adrian he's amazing too.. He started with a 60 I believe and his is up to a 72 & his games for last weekend were a 70 , a 90 & a 110...

As for equipment, I swore I wouldnt' buy them a bowling ball for a few years but then that is all Elijah wanted for Christmas & after Elijah got his - Adrian was determined he needed one too.
After I got to thinking about it - What is the difference.... In every sport I've listed above - I had to buy either cleats, mitts, wrestling shoes, sign up fees & travel every weekend & during the week. so really a $50.00 bowling ball that will last them at least 1 yr.. .I'm still coming out ahead. So yes, the both now have their own ball & bags... and are very proud of them.

I love it ... we try to practice 1- 2 days a week right after school, and then compete on Saturdays. It's great fun, it's cheap family entertainment, it doesn't affect their ADHD sleep schedule, med schedule at all & they are feeling like they are accomplishing something that makes them feel good... I think we found it !!!

Is he the next Picasso???

As I was wiping blue ink off the mirror, the sink, the toilet, the floor, the shower curtain, and the ceiling.. I was wandering why in the world would Adrian decide to cut the tip of the pen off and splatter it all over in the bathroom & then it hit me!!! He wanted to be the next Picasso!!!

I'm just so thankful that I had a Mr. Clean eraser on hand just waiting for that perfect moment!!

Well... here's another late night post!!!

Eric is officially on crutches... It will be interesting to see how much stamina he has after being in a wheel chair for the past 2 months...

Siblings should never live together & should never let a girl or a friend come between them... Is a mom to intervene or do you let them work it out themselves.. What do you do??

I've sooo wanted to go to Vegas for so long.. The opportunity finally is here & 2 weeks before I wake up and realize I can't go.. I can't leave the boys.. I know that sounds nuts because I think I need a break but I honestly think I'd be a nervous wreck being that far away...

When you go to sleep with a terrible headache at 7:30 p.m. - Wake up at 1:00 a.m. with a slight headache - and then can't sleep - I'm afraid that is only going to contribute to tomorrow's headache....

I stopped and picked up Dave Ramsey's book " The Money Makeover"... I'm so going to do this and yes it's going to be tough.. I found it interesting that no where in his book have I found the pay as you go system... they call & you pay ......

I talked to my brother Dave tonight, which is always good but I tell you when that sweet little girl gets on the phone & says "I lub you Darla"... It makes you melt.. No wander she's got her daddy wrapped around her finger *lol*

I think we finally have the office resituated. Welcome to Warden Annette!!!

Rachael, how in the world could anyone be mad at you.. I've read your post several times... OH MY GOODNESS!!! Keep your head up... What's not to love about you!! And on another note, I wish you lived in Moses Lake, I would love to have you teaching my kids. I've learned more from your blog on your home school techniques than I did in school!! You are an awesome woman!!

Well, it's now 2:00 a.m.- I don't know if you have notice or cared but I've posted 3 days in a row... *lol*

Good night.....

Lazy Day Sunday.....

Today has been an absolute lazy day... Love it!!!

Laundry, scrappin, and football on & off...

I don't normally watch football. One sport, I just don't care for. During playoff's and or Superbowl you may catch me watching it on and off. Elijah comes in and asks me what I'm watching. I said Football. He then says "Mom, are you getting old?" I reply "Why would you ask if I"m getting old?" He says "You are watching football." "Why would watching football make me old?" He says "Well, Grandma Ruffin is old and she watches football all the time."

Oh my!!!!

A Very Lengthy Random / Catch Up Post.....

Random thoughts since last blog.....

Someone is hacking into my comments on my blog. If you see Japanese/Chinese writing in my comments- Please don't open it... I did, Oh my it was a porn site, the bad thing is it's hard to get it off. I'm so contiplating password protecting my blog. This is the 3rd time it has happened..

Happy Birthday to my nephew, Pat - He turned 22 on January 8th

The fence post said to me on my birthday -" When you come back from lunch could you pick up your own ice cream cake so we can have some" ..... *lol* As I was ordering flowers for a funeral of one of our customers - "Darla, go ahead and get yourself a nice bouquet" *lol*.....

Birthday Lunch with my mom - "I didn't mean to offend you, I just thought I could take you to buy some nice clothes. It's a great store that has FAT clothes for people like me and I thought you might be able to find something".... Kevin & Amanda showed up too... they were my sanity :)

Adrian givin me a key on a chain (it was his prize for reading books -the chain was way to short so he lengthened it with string) and a poem that he had written

Card from Dave & Dolly - Handmade Christmas Card - turned to birthday (luv it) with a quote -
Darla, we will still buy you the craft CRAP (a whole nother post)

All the sing-a-grams, phone calls, inuendos thru out the day that made the day so special

My Wilbur Birthday Lunch

Change - Things are changing at work - Change causes stress - Stress puts me to bed by 8:00 - BUT Change can be good !!

Bowling - The boys are bowling on Saturday's at 10:30 - They are both improving so much. It's a great program & they get to bowl 3 free games each thru out the week.. Great family fun!! I just love spending Saturday mornings with their Great Grandparents. The boys informed them
they were bowling when they went there for Christmas.. (I really have to watch my screnched up nose when I see them walk in)

Live-Love-Laugh - I made the wooden signs that say Live - Love - Laugh & hung them in with a collage of pictures of the kids & me on my wall.. I've done it all in black & white & I absolutely love it. I'd love to post a picture but Jenn has borrowed my camera & have not seen it for a bit :(

Eric - Eric is doing good but I'm nervous he's doing to much. Kevin says he walks - hobbles around the house. He is supposed to be using a walker and so he tells me he is.. He is to move to crutches this week. Hopefully he will use them. On February 10, we head back to Spokane for another appointment.

Kevin - Kevin passed his written test for his CDL. He was issued a permit that will allow him to train with a Coke Driver and eventually will become a driver which will come with a nice raise..
I'm so glad he stayed with and didn't quit to go back to work with his dad when Eric got hurt.

Jenn- Jenn is babysitting 3 days a week (for 2 beautiful, spunky little girls-Deb's granddaughters) but is a mom 5 days a week. I was watching Mazz & Maleghia ( I can't spell her name) interact with her the other day... They absolutely love her & I'm not sure where she found them but she has so many patience with them.. She's matured so much in the past year.... I'm so happy for her ,DeAndre and the girls

Adrian & Elijah are doing good. Not sure if its the weather or what but we can't seem to keep our hands off each other. I've been seen this past week on the side of the rode, with my butt sticking out of the door , pointing a finger & scolding because he was shutting Elijah's arm in the compartment between them.. Now for the life of me I can't figure out why Elijah just didn't take it out... Confuscious says - When grounding boys from Wii , DS, Gameboys & etc , you should only ground them from the DS at home - It will save you alot of heartache if they can play with them in the car.
Dr. Bond's office is proven several times to be very competent. As for the waiting room both the boys and me hate it!!! It is so loud, do people not make their children mind? When the receptionist has to tell the children to stop as the mom looks on, I would say that's a little much. I have a sore spot on my tongue from biting it.. I so wanted to say something to them.

I'm doing good.. Trying to de-stress from change at work, not ever enough money, needing to go on a diet & keep finding every excuse why not to, kids not getting along. I just keep saying my prayers, asking for patience, thanking God for the things I'm very fortunate to have - Family, Friends, a great job, good health.
I started Photo Freedom again - you know the popsicle stick by Stacy :)
I started yesterday, I drew the print pictures, the project & scrap an old packet sticks - so I printed some snow pictures, I did Deb's circle journal ( the one that I'm not in *lol*-Thanks Heather) and today I started an old packet - Scrap Retreat - Leavenworth 2005l It's amazing how less I am overwhelmed by using this method.

Well, I apologize for this long post but I feel that I'm caught up now!!!

Our first visit....

We had our first vist with the boy's new doctor.
Dr. Toby Bond

My thoughts -The receptionist are friendly & thourough - He's a very nice man - He's very thourough - He trusts my judgement :) - He was good with the boys
Elijah's thoughts - The waiting room was to loud (kids running everywhere) - The rooms are too small (however they had toys) - Is he gonna do that every time we come in (check pulse in ALL locations) - He's nice - "Are we ever gonna see the ladies down stairs again?" -
Adrian's thoughts - He didn't talk to me & Elijah much - Yeah he's nice
It was a good appointment & there is no doubt in my mind that he is an excellent pediatrian and feel good knowing that the boys will be in good hands BUT
He's not Dr. Warner & his staff will be missed, not only by me but the boys ...

His New Best Friend.....

The only thing Elijah put in his letter to Santa was a Bowling Bag, Bowling Shoes, and Bowling Ball. Now Santa did not dissapoint him except in the shoe dept. & I explained that his feet just grow way to fast & that seemed to settle him down. But I want to tell you, these pictures are real. They are not posed and this is what we see all the time. The ball goes everywhere with him... Not sure how we are gonna make it thru today, going back to school and all with no ball..

Out of the Mouth of Elijah.....

Elijah went over and played at a friends house during Christmas break. While he was there he was visiting with the mom & he informed her she had a real family. She questioned him by asking what he meant. He says - Well your family is real , mine is fake, Adrian & I are adopted and that's why our family is fake & then he adds "Didn't you know I'm from Spain".

Oh my, where does this child come up with this stuff!!!

REWARD - IN SEARCH OF AMBITION !!

I'm offering a reward to anyone who can find my ambition. I've seem to have lost it. I've been off for a week with a list of tasks that needed and I wanted to complete & low and behold they are not done. I return to work / life on Monday and I'm afraid I may have to have the couch surgically removed from my butt before I can go *lol*... Wow.. I never thought I'd be one that could / would sit on the couch in front of a t.v. with a zillion stations and nothing to watch.

If you see my ambition running around please send it back to me... I've got lots to do and a short time to do it..

Thank you!!!
