I had to miss the last 3 of Elijah's matches due to my surgery... I was so surprised to see how much better he has gotten .. He lost both of his matches but I'm so proud of how far he's come ...

Young Firefighter of the Year!!!

Kevin received the award of " Young Firefighter of ther Year"..this is 4th year and next year he will be thrown in with the not so young firefighters for the award ... I'm so proud of him -... His dad presented the award!!

Today is one of my best friends birthday..

He had taken a week off and went to Mexico .. I had text him the night before and said "since you decided to spend your birthday in Mexico we decided to eat your birthday cake - but I'll be sure to  send pics"....and here they are 

Lasagna... That's What's For Dinner Tonight...

I've taken 2 recipes and combined them into one - and I must say - it's amazing ...

This recipe is for 1 - Lasagna 13x 9 - but we double -'Paul likes extra sauce and the remainder we freeze and use for Spaghetti-

Combined the following in a large pan and heat over med heat for 5-10 mins till veggies are soft:

1 TBLS olive oil

1 onion peeled and chopped

1 green pepper chopped

3 cloves garlic

2 tsp dried basil

2 tsp dried oregeno

2 tsp dried thyme leaves

Cook 1lb beef and 1/2 lb Pork till brown all over - I season with garlic pepper - drain the excess grease and dump in a soup pot - stir in the following :

4 Cups Tomato Juice

1 Bottle Chilli Sauce

1 Can Tomato Paste

1 Tblsp Worcestershire  sauce

Dump the sautéed veggies in also.   

Simmer apx. 10 mins.

Combine for Cheese Mixture :

24 oz Ricotta Cheese

2 Eggs beaten

1/2 Tsp Pepper

2 TBLS Parsley

1/2 cup Grated Parmesean

1 Lb mozzarella

Pour sauce in pan and then layer noodles - cheese mixture sauce & etc ..

Bake covered @ 350 for 1 hr then remove foil and bake another 15 mins. 

Let stand for 10 mins before eating ...

Tricities or Bust!!

Paul and I headed to Triciites - we got a late start as I have not been sleeping well at night - our first stop was the mall - our plan was the Walking Company  and the Motherhood Store.. Well we found the Motherhood Store - I was. So impressed - I wish they would have had those type maternity clothes when I was pregnant . Well we detoured to Christopher and Banks - I actually splurged on some new tops - they had some really good sales going on .. By the time we left I told Paul I needed to eat - I was tired, shakey and light headed - I only had a piece of toast for breakfast and it was long gone ...we decided to go to our old standby for lunch - Texas Roadhouse - they seated us immediately .. I couldn't shovel the roll into my mouth fast enough .... I'm not sure I even chewed loll..  We had a fabulous lunch - I went out of the box and ordered beef tips that were in with mushrooms /onions and a gravy - and mashed potatoes and a salad ..Paul

Orders catfish with salad and mashed potatoes .. Well mine was amazing - I could only eat a bit as my stomach tends  to get full faster which is a good thing - after lunch we headed to Ranch & Home, Costco and Winco and I was officially wiped ... We had a great day together

Who Says a Girl Can't Give a Ring....

Tonight I gave Paul his belated Valentines gift.. I made him promise to not get emotional but yeah that didn't last long lol ...

I made what I think is the coolest gift .. I printed several pictures and several quotes and made an accordion type photo collage... I put it in a wooden box that I had stained ... The best part of the gift was the ring .. Paul had picked out his ring and I had attached it on the page   That had this quote on it 

" I may not be your first date, your first kiss, or your love but I will be your last ."

I attached the ring with a ribbon .. It was so awesome...  The pictures don't do the moment justice but I loved it that he loved it !! 

And no the wedding isn't any sooner but if I get to wear my ring daily why can't he ?

I've Escaped!!!

I've escaped.., today was my first venture out  since my surgery .. Had my Dr, appointment follow up.   It went well. Everything I had experienced after surgery was normal .. However, we did find out.. It was not only full of infection it had crystals lodged in the walls.. He said no wander you were  sick..  So here's to recovery and to being back among the living ..

 

It's a 2:00 Kind of Night

Random thinking at 2:00 am - 

1) Why can't my sleeping habits be like Boog (the dog).  She eats - she sleeps - she poops - she sleeps   -  she pees - she sleeps -she plays - she sleeps ... You else her up to move and she goes back to sleep - me on the other hand - not even close

2) I learned today that a classmate of mine well he was a tad younger committed suicide.. I don't know all the details but it breaks my heart - I know he had some things in his past that haunted him but he was a father - he was also somebody's brother , and somebody else's son.  My heart breaks for his family as I'm sure they are all asking "why"... May you rest in peace Randy and  thoughts and prayers to your family ..

3). I have a friend - a close friend, that seems like we can go months - even years without talking and we can pick right back up like we saw each other yesterday ..  Sheri- oh how I miss you and it's sad to think it took me in having surgery for us to catch up again... Oh how I promise to stay in touch this year far better than the past -

Life is to short not to be greatfull for those in our lives that we were blessed with ..

4) Wow - I was able to eat dinner and not run straight to  the bathroom - maybe my recovery is winding up ....

5) I am one of the luckiest women in the world  - I asked God to help me find the piece to my puzzle in life and he did - He sent me Paul- the most loving ,caring , best friend I could ask for - now I need  to  nurture - love - respect and be the best I can be back to him.... 

Well -

I've eaten toast, caved took  Advil Pm - blogged - now hoping sleep will fall back into this nightly routine ..

Poison Control @ 6:00 am

Well today started off with a bang ... Paul came in and said "baby I effed up" .. I gave  Elijah your antibiotic instead of his meds ....   Instant wake up call - 

I googled 

They actually were so busy they said leave your name an number we will  call back - called Samaritin Healthcare- they can't give any advice over a phone - they had me call a nurses hotline - after what seemed forever of answering questions - asked for my member number once I said I wasn't a member - refused to help me - called Samaritin back - still couldn't help me - called Poison control again - - got thru but was put on hold - after a few minutes was helped - it was determined that the antibiotic he took was not in the same category of what he is allergic too -

I just needed to watch him but he could have side effects of upset stomach - nausea but he would be ok ... Well as I am still home  for a few more days I kept him with me .. He claims it's made him as he put it a farting matchine *lol*.., another chapter in our book of life ..

Post Surgery...

Well tomorrow it will be one week with no gallbladder and today my body has decided to try and figure out what to do with the food after I eat.   I have apx. 20'mins after each meal and I better be close to a restroom ... So far no fun... This maybe my new weight loss program - can't eat as much and it leaves my system immediately - can't be all bad ... Let's see what tomorrow brings ...

Miss Lindsey....

Introducing Miss Lindsey....

Eric has been seeing Miss Lindsey's mom for a few months .... All though they have only officially been together for a bit - they've been dancing around it for years - the timing just was never right ... Well we all have our fingers crossed that it's right - love them both .. Lindsey came over and spent some time while mom had an interview... She helped me make Mini Muffins for their family ... Another granddaughter to love .....

Grandma's Big Move...

Well after 35+ years my mom moved from 142 Schilling - Moses Lake to a Pioneer Senior Village across from the  Moses Lake High School.  It's the cutest 2 bedroom apt.  They have a commons area- the have a beauty parlor- computer room and an exercise room . It's really nice .. I'm really happy for her but wow no more 142 Schilling....

Happy Valentines Day.....

This year was a pretty quiet Valentines compared to last ...  We made Valentines for the grandkids and delivered them and that pretty much summed it up - Paul and I decided we'd wait till I feel better to go out ... 

Each family got a plate of sugar cookies - I used Janey Payne's secret. Paul bought Safeway sugar cookies - we decorated them - they were the best ..

Drae was so excited the Valentine Fairy had come ...

One wrestler down one to go....

Yesterday Adrian wrestled his last match for the year .  He had sub regionals in at Kititas.  We weren't able to go due to surgery ...  He didn't win either of his matches - he refused to talk about them but he has gone from the grumpy tired kid back to Adrian.. Wrestling is a great sport - I'm not a huge fan but I will support my kids -it's been a long season he's improved so much but I will not miss the crankiness of him... Today we've talked , laughed and watched tv together this has not happened in the past few months ... Glad he's back ...

Gallbladder Be Gone!!'

It's been a long time coming but it's finally done !! Yesterday I had my gallbladder removed ...I couldn't eat or dink after midnight the night before &  I was scheduled at 1:00 for surgery and that's a long time without anything but I did it ... We showed up - paperwork filled out - and was called back shortly - after they got me dressed and got my I'vs going they informed us that Dr. Rolls was running 2 hrs behind - OMG 2 more hours without anything - Paul and I were watching tv visiting and Rin Jones stopped by - he brought flowers from him and Cindy - he kept me and Paul laughing as we passed the time - before he left he made a joke about me eating the flowers - then to pour salt in the wound went and bought me a rice crispy treat- lol I was dying ....well 2 hrs passed and they came in and told us it would be another couple hours .... Ok now the patience is wearing - I'm getting half sick from not eating or drinking I kept reminding Paul How many hours since I had anything ... I was starting to make the Snickers Commercial look calm lol-

I was getting texts and phone calls wanting to know how it was going and I hadnt even been back yet - they finally came in and got me -

Dr Rolf's said it would be about 45 min procedure.. Well it was actually a 2 HR one - the silly thing was wedged be hind something and he had to get it out -  I didn't get out until after 7- ....  We got home about 8 .... It was a rough start but by 11 pm or so I was feeling pretty good- This morning I had a piece of bacon and didn't get sick   - it worked ... I was cured ..I sincerely hope that the foods that were making me sick I will be able to eat again ... Now to sit still and not be up and around a lot - it's gonna be a long few days!!!

It's been a crazy week - but tonight we celebrated Paul's 54th birthday ...  We had Hot Artichoke Dip as an appetizer. French Dips was the main course .. I paid  Adrianne to make him his favorite pie- Lemon Meringue..

We waited for boys to get home to open gifts - Adrian surprised Paul - he made a machete in shop and gave to him - we had no idea he made it so we were both shocked .  He also got an Alabama flag for outside and a bottle of Pendelton.  We sat around had dinner and watched our shows .. It was a great night ... 

Happy birthday to the best thing that ever happened to me !! 

Cougar Gold Artichoke Hot Dip

Paul and I had tried some cougar gold artichoke dip at a resteraunt we had visited.  Well we tried to recreate it and it's pretty dang close !!  

1) 8oz Cream Cheese

 2- cups of Mayo

1 14 oz can of Artichokes -

Drained and chopped

1 cup of Kraft - 5 cheese Italian

1 cup of Cougar Gold Cheese

Dash of Worshire Sauce

Dash of Hot Sauce 

Salt and Pepper

Mix the Cream Cheese with mixer till smooth. Beat in mayo till smooth- mix in rest of ingredients - spread in to baking dish ... Bake at 400 or so until browning on top and bubbling - Serve with warm baggette bread !! 

Super Bowl 50!!

This years Super Bowl was the big 50!! 

This year was The Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos ... What a year of controversy for football - Cam Newton has shown his true colors or at least I finally saw them - for a man that thousand  of kids look up to as he is one of the best quarterbacks he has a crappy  additude and terrible sportsmanship...  As are family is mostly Seahawk fans we do have our one Bronco fan... So this years colors were orange and blue ... We had some family over - others were sick - we had a great time especially watching Peyton Mannning go out in style - Sorry 

Cam !! 

But my favorite part of the day was snuggling my babies !!!
