Grandma Night....

Carson came and visited me and spent the night.. Oh what a happy baby!!! Eric swears he's not a baby guy but I kept catching him playing with him all the time... Carson's laugh is infectious. If he can't get you to pay attention to him, he will start laughing so you will look at him. It's priceless!!

Elijah Update...

We were able to get into Dr. Bond. As we are sitting in the room Elijah is literally up and down off the table. Sitting in Dr. Bond's chair racing it up and down in the very small room, touching everything as I am continually telling him to sit still and quit touching..

Dr. Bond walks in and says "hey buddy, whatcha doing here?." Elijah says as he is moving everywhere.. "I'm not sure.. ask Mom " *lol*.. he looks at me and says hey mom .. what's going on & I just laughed and said well.. what ya thinking *lol* So the decision was made to up his meds, the only problem was the med he was on "Adderall XR" is known for anger issues.. and the more you raise the dose the more chance of problem.. We noticed a definate change in his temperment when he had put him on it. So it was decided it would be best to switch all together. He is now taking Focolin in the morning and a small dose in the afternoon. I love it so much better. There are hardly any side effects that I've seen. So wich us luck to see how long we can stay on this one..

Addiction....

Hi .. My name is Darla .. and I'm here to tell you I have several addictions.....

So to tell you the whole truth and nothing but the truth I drink about 8-9 Diet Cokes a day... Yes.. I said 8-9 and yes that is terrible.. I have recently tried giving it up and I'm down to 2 sometimes 3 a day.. and oh how much better I feel...

2) These are my 2nd addiction - Juanita's.... These are the absolute best corn tortilla chips I've ever had.. You can throw them in the oven for 5 mins or so at 400 degrees and they are absolutely the best... Here's the problem... I eat them at home, at work, where ever or when ever I can .. if the bag gets low we call it the "Danger Zone" *lol*....

3) My newest addiction - You can eat it on anything.. I've marinated ribs and cooked them. .absolutely wonderful.... I've had it on little smokies.. but my most favorite way is .. to pour over cream cheese and eat it with .. yep .. you got it JUANITA's Corn Chips *lol*.. It's locally made from what I understand & you can get it at the Biestro in Moses Lake & I heard at farmer's market.. You need to try I promise you won't be disappointed

Now the worst part of these 3 addictions is I started back to the gym and all the work of going & the little amount of calories that are burned each time I really shouldn't have any of this.. I've managed to drop down to 2 pops a day.. huge change... lots of water thru out the day... I've managed not to go buy more Schmiggitties... but I'm really struggling with JUANITA... I even sing to her.. Oh Juanita you are a friend of mine.. I like to eat you with a little salt & lime *lol*.. Do they have an alonon for something like this..???

However, you must try both the Juanita's and Schmiggities.. you won't be disappointed...

Busy Week for Elijah.....

Elijah has had a busy week.... and by that it hasn't been for the better... It's been a red flag week...

Not completing assignments in class..... Appettite loss is none.. that kid eat's 4-5 pieces of french toast everymorning... but the biggest red flag.... Monday - Settle (detention in school)... Tuesday-Settle.. Wednesday- (2) settles and a trip to the principal for not behaving at recess... I knew it was bad on Wednesday when I pulled up in the front of the school and rolled my window down to say Hi to Mrs. M and she said.. I'm so sorry.. your day is about to get worse *lol*...

Well.. after talking with Elijah's teacher.. I called and got an appointment & tomorrow we go see Dr. Bond.. Hopefully a quick tweak of the meds and he will be back on track...

Gotta luv ADHD.....

Are You Ready To Rumble....

First match of the year.... Match was in Othello... Pinned both times.. So proud of him.. Has only wrestled one year for little guys.. He's so aggressive but so inexperienced. I head over to tell him I thought he did good.. he totally took his arm and shoved me away... I was not a happy mom.. Just wanted him to know I was proud of him & had something for him to eat.. Well I packed up my stuff took his food & I left.. Of course he settled down but it was to late.. When he got in the car he wanted to know what was for dinner.. I politely said (his friend needed a ride) that I took him dinner but since he decided to shove me away .. I took it home & let Eric eat it.. His friend told him.. Adrian don't ever treat your mom like that. I did it once and I will never do it again.. As soon as the friend shut the door I layed in to him.. How dare you treat me like that.. I will always be the one that will be there to support him no matter what.. I told him if he ever did that again I could promise that will be the very last sporting event that I will ever attend of his. As for dinner Eric said Thank you!! When you get home.. you make you a sandwich.. take your meds & go to bed. When we walked in I had already explained to Eric what had happened.. By the time Eric got done with him.. I think he understood. Eric reinerated how I would be his supporter & he would never treat me like that again!! I will say before the next match we came to an agreement.. He would come up to me after the 2nd match and talk with me.. and I will not go looking for him or wave him over ...

Bacon-Wrapped Jalapeno Chicken Bite
Serves: 16 bite-sizes

Chicken spread with cream cheese and jalapenos, rolled and wrapped with bacon, then grilled.

Ingredients

8 chicken tenders, flattened and cut in two
3-ounce package softened cream cheese
1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and finely chopped
8 slices bacon, cut in half

Directions

(I season my chicken with garlic pepper & lawry's) before spreading cream cheese.

Dab 1/2 teaspoon (more or less) of cream cheese on top of each chicken tender. Sprinkle a scant 1/4 teaspoon of peppers over cream cheese. Fold or roll chicken to enclose cream cheese mixture. Wrap each roll with one piece of bacon and secure with a toothpick. Grill until bacon is brown and crispy on both sides. (I cook in a frying pan too - works great) .

Old Blue.......

Old blue has been around for a long time... Yep, every morning... most weekend afternoons & every evening.. Old blue would get his chance to shine... Old blue was always on the camping list as he was never forgotten behind. Well the other evening, I was using old blue and I pushed a little hard & he gave a way... It not only scared me but I was devasted....

I took a moment of silence... I had to re-group.. but I had to move on.....



Old Blue I miss you.. it hasn't been the same with out you... Thank you for your time of service with our family.....

P.S. Elijah was in a total frantic the morning after... When he realized Old Blue was gone, he honestly didn't think he'd ever get french toast again.. cuz how would we ever turn it over...

Dear City Employee......

Dear City Employee ... Thank you so much for plowing our streets.. however, since your mom is such a dork, could you please send me a text and let me know I need to shovel out the entrance to the driveway... Eric did do a fantastic job digging me out & I now owe Charlotte and Casey a bottle of fireball for helping and yes if it all could have been prevented by me looking behind me but not all cars are not equipped with a backup up camera. However, with modern technology.. a text will work just fine .. Love mom

Red Neck Sledding.....

We had a snow day for both school & work today. I vowed I was going to get some scrapbooking done. So the boys had to get a little creative for sledding.....

Kujo.....

I am not a big fan of dogs.. I hate to admit that but I'm not... Except for Kujo... she's one in a million.. She gets away with anything at my house because she is such a great dog... She lays on the couch.. she sleeps on my bed.. I cook her bacon sometimes (lol) yep this dog has my number...

Jenn proceeds to tease him with Mckenzie.. and she drools... Vanessa was sitting across the room and starts sceaming and gagging... *lol* It was the funniest thing..

Taco Soup.......

One of the guys wife's that I work with made me some Taco Soup for helping them with an insurance problem. Oh how I dislike soup but .. I felt I had to eat it because she had made it especially for me... Wow.. I'm so glad I did .. We have this soup every couple weeks.... It's delicious!!! It's so delicious I want to share & yes I did tweak it a little but either version is fantastic... It actually is more like a Chili than a soup....


Taco Soup : Keith & Riki Beamer

1# Hamburger ( I use 2)
1 Chopped Onion
1 Can Kidney Beans or Pinto Beans ( I use Frijoles-Pintos)
1 Can Mexi Corn
2 Cans Stewed Tomatoes ( I use Mexican Stewed Tomatoes)
1 Pkg. Taco Seasoning ( I use the Hot one)
1 8 oz can Tomato Paste

** I add 1 can lite beer...It's not part of the original recipe. I didn't think it had enough liquid & I have a chili recipe that you add a can of beer to that is fabulous.. So I improvised & it's now part of my recipe...

Cook Hamburger & Onions ( I season with Lawry's and Garlic Pepper) .. Drain grease & Mix the rest of the ingredients in a pot. Let cook and simmer till it's at the conisistency you like.

We garnish with sourcream, shredded cheese & Juanita Tortilla Chips.....

I usually make Christmas Gifts for the bus drivers & teachers. And I'm always so stressed getting them done. So this year instead of getting Christmas Gifts, they are getting a "New Year Gift". I found this idea on pinterest. I filled mine with chocolate kisses. I'm also including two bags of Micro Popcorn tied with a ribbon that will read "HERE'S TO A POPPIN NEW YEAR".

I was driving down road U and a semi went by on the opposite side & I'm not sure if it thru a rock or a potato but this was the end result. Good thing the glass gave but didn't let it thru, I honestly could have been hurt.. It was on the drivers side at eye level.. I had glass everywhere it even went down my shirt.
I made an appt. to get it fixed and when I went to pay ... my deductible was $250.00 I only owed $150.00. Someone had paid $1oo.oo of it. I almost cried .. it was 3 weeks before Christmas when this happened.. I figured out who it was but I just want to say THANK YOU!!! one more time.. Some day I will be able to repay you .... You are the best!!!!

Grandma Day - Donut Making

One of my Christmas Gifts was a mini donut maker and a few mixes. Jenn had an appointment so I watched the girls.. Perfect time to try out the new machine... As you can see by the pictures it was a true success... Mckenzie looking on... Won't be long and she will be in the midst of all the messes too .. I can't wait !!!
