Congratulations Adrian....

Adrian received two awards on the last day of school..

He and several others received The President's Education Award for Outstanding Academic Exellence & also the Curiosity & Creativity Award. His teacher had told me that most will only receive 1 award but she feels that if a child deserves more than one that they shall receive & noboy fit getting the Curiosity & Creativiy Award than Adrian.. I wander how many "WHY'S" she has heard this year *lol*... .Congratulations Adrian. I'm so proud of you!!!

Elijah wanted to help make his own dinner last night. He said it would help me to relax and maybe my headaches would go away ... He made grilled cheese. He made sure I took pictures & then asked.. "Mom, will you put me on Face Book"? Oh my!!!

Random Thinking........................

1) Last few days of school - Bitter sweet - Hoping boys will be fine with Jenn this summer - So glad I don't have to worry about homework for a few days

2) Lost 10 1/2 lbs as of Monday - Why am I struggling with eating this week - I was so structured last few weeks - now I can't stop thinking or wanting to eat

3) Conconully in a few weeks - Wish I had a money tree - Thankful the kids are going to be there & have offered to kick in for food - Trying not to feel guilty that I'm ok with them helping out

4) Allison turned 3 today - Happy Birthday !!!

5) Elijah has been a little fart this past week.. Not sure what is up with him but he is making it very interesting at night..

6) Jenn, DeAndre and the girls stopped by . We thru Tacos together - I love when my kids come by just to say Hi & end up staying for a bit ... I'm so blessed

7) Wedding Plans are full steam ahead - Programs (when did they start doing programs at a wedding?) Save the date cards - Engagement Pictures - Center Pieces - 2nd reception in Moses

8) Adrian receives two awards on Friday - The Presidential Award & The Inquisitive Award - I'm not sure what the Presidential Award is but his teacher assured me that he more the deserved "The Inquisitive Award " His favorite word was WHY?

D-I-E-T IS A FOUR LETTER WORD!!!

Well, I'm back on the diet rollercoaster... Hmm ... Will it ever end *lol* I've been doing really good as of last weeks weigh in , I was down 7 1/2 lbs.. I'm actually excited to weigh tomorrow.

I'm doing weight watchers again *lol* I told myself I would just go back on the program & if I didn't lose on my own I would pay and go back but I did lose, so I'm still trying on my own . The reason I keep going back to it is I know it works. I just need to stay on it .. The saying of it's not a diet it's a life style change is absolutely correct. This week we ate out for lunch, we went to the races & I had race food, & I even ate the fence posts popcorn at work.. The difference is I watched my points.. made sure I allowed for those special treats.. Now to see if it worked.. tomorrow will tell. Heather turned me on to these. I love them.. I eat them for breakfast, they make a delicious egg/bacon/cheese sandwich. For lunch with a salad or a grilled cheese, and this morning Elijah wanted French Toast so I thought I'd give it a try & I loved it... My new

Put A Lime In The Coconut & Shake It All Up...

The boys have been driving me nuts to buy a coconut at Safeway.. Yesterday I went ahead and bought one, knowing darn well they wouldn't even try.

Bonding.....

Adrian has done a complete 360 this past few weeks where Nick is concerned.. I'm not sure what the reasoning is but I'm glad.. I think he is finally realizing that Nick is the closest thing to a dad that he has ever had & without him things would be alot different. Adrian has never allowed Nick to get to close & Nick has had a wall up too....

Well Nick had surgery on his knee & has been around a tad more these past few weeks. He came down last Sunday & left for home on Tuesday.. He gave the boys a hug before they left for school but didn't mention he wouldn't be there when they got home. Afterschool we were headed home & Adrian mentioned he couldn't wait to see Nick, he had something to share with him. I interjected and told him he would have to call & it got really quiet in the back seat. All of a sudden I heard these loud sobs & I mean sobs.. I thought it was Elijah ... boy was I wrong..

Adrian was crying crocodile tears.. When he finally got control I asked him what was wrong & he

told me that Nick never says goodbye & he didn't again.. He wanted him to be there when he got home. Wow, I was in shock for someone who has acted like he never cared he was quite emotional..

I talked with Nick that night & he couldn't believe it either but agreed that he needed to reach out a little more now that Adrian was letting him in and promised he'd say goodbye next time.

Well, this weekend when Nick got here there was more bonding going on.. The military channel, the XBOX. It was nice to see.. Adrian was reaching out & Nick was responding... Wow, it's been about 7 yrs and I never thought we'd see this break thru but I'm glad we are!!!
